A Direct Method for Fitting an Exponential Function. to Bivariate Observations

چکیده
In many economic problems, we are often interested in the growth rate of a variable. Of particular importance is the situation where the rate of growth is constant or approximately constant. This often entails a model which assumes that a unit increase in the independent variable will be accompanied by a fixed proportional increase in the dependent variable, apart from random fluctuations. Under such circumstances, an exponential model of the form

Skew-t distribution is an appropriate alternative for the weighted exponential distribution
In this manuscript first a brief introduction to the Skew-t and Weighted exponential distributions is considered and some of their important properties will be studied. Then we will show that the Skew-t distribution is prefered to the Weighted exponential distribution in fitting by using the real data. Finally we will prove our claim by using the simulation method.
متن کاملOn Bivariate Generalized Exponential-Power Series Class of Distributions
In this paper, we introduce a new class of bivariate distributions by compounding the bivariate generalized exponential and power-series distributions. This new class contains the bivariate generalized exponential-Poisson, bivariate generalized exponential-logarithmic, bivariate generalized exponential-binomial and bivariate generalized exponential-negative binomial distributions as specia...
متن کاملTHE MEAN RESIDUAL LIFETIME OF PARALLEL SYSTEMS WITH TWO EXCHANGEABLE COMPONENTS UNDER THE GENERALIZED FARLIE-GUMBEL-MORGENSTERN MODEL
The parallel systems are special important types of coherent structures and have many applications in various areas. In this paper we consider a two-exchangeable-component parallel system for the Generalized Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern (Generalized FGM) distribution. We study the reliability properties of the residual lifetime of the system under the condition that both components of the system ar...
متن کاملNumerical Solution of Multidimensional Exponential Levy Equation by Block Pulse Function
The multidimensional exponential Levy equations are used to describe many stochastic phenomena such as market fluctuations. Unfortunately in practice an exact solution does not exist for these equations. This motivates us to propose a numerical solution for n-dimensional exponential Levy equations by block pulse functions. We compute the jump integral of each block pulse function and present a ...
متن کاملBayesian sample size Determination Using a Scaled Exponential Utility Function According to Numerical Method
In this paper we propose a utility function and obtain the Bayese stimate and the optimum sample size under this utility function. This utility function is designed especially to obtain the Bayes estimate when the posterior follows a gamma distribution. We consider a Normal with known mean, a Pareto, an Exponential and a Poisson distribution for an optimum sample size under the propose...
